The rune of Joy and complete, easy fulfillment drawn in reverse lets us know that our ways of deriving comfort are being turned upside down. The things we have rested on or indulged in that were not truly in alignment, were not the best use of our applied will, are unstable and falling away. And the equine wisdom reminds us how our outer experience is a reflection of our inner state. Which, in uncertain times, can be a relief. While we do not have control over life, we do have a certain amount of control over how we respond to it. What happens to us is not our fault, but how we respond is our responsibility. Taken together, the message is a gentle reminder that *life is not happening to us, but for us*. That true Joy, the childlike bliss of being surrounded and supported by Love, does not come from an easy life, but rather careful and long-term commitment to cultivating inner resilience and the tools that allow us to grow through challenge. We are interconnected. The better we know ourselves, love ourselves, heal ourselves... the more our collective experience will be one of compassion and abundance for all.

The rune is Wunjo (Joy), the perfectly balanced application of will and creativity to bring about effortless abundance and alignment, here drawn in the reverse.
