Wisdom Wednesdays

A PWYC, ‘office hours’-style gathering to coach and support burnout recovery, grief, and transitions

for wild, nature-loving humans who are grappling with the questions:

  • burn down what you love, or pay dearly yourself?

  • is it going to be the good work, or your life?

and want to feel alive in the life they have.

Because I believe a devotion to aliveness might help us find a another, better way…

Curious for my perspective on something you’re grappling with related to your own aliveness, the subtle body or nervous system, burnout, a transition, grief, the mystical, or the state of the world?

Or feeling isolated and want to be with others, while listening in on some coaching to see what it sparks for you?

Join Kate most first Wednesdays

at 9am PT || 12pm ET

on Zoom

for a 90-min coaching and perspective-reframe call; where questions are engaged with on a first-come, first-served basis.

This might be a good fit for you if…

  • You’re a human who used to feel vibrant and full but increasingly feels like your fire is out or something within you is broken and you’re wanting to feel more alive.

  • You resonate with my perspective that burnout is the long term result and symptom of the rupture which happened when humans stopped being right for the world and began expecting the world to be right for their machines. And a key element of repairing burn out is to trust ancestral practices, animist wisdom, and our own bodies to help us find our way back to that aliveness.

  • You’ve encountered me somewhere online, through my podcast, or because a friend keeps telling you to book a session with me; and you’re curious to hear more about how I see the world and what it might offer you in your challenges (current and past clients are welcome, too!).

  • You appreciate spiritual places which honor your nervous-system, soma (body), and the full human experience, rather than perpetuating power-over dynamics and bypassing.

  • You’re not feeling so desperate to be individually seen and heard that if we aren’t able to get to your question you’ll be upset (if the need in you is that strong, you may wish to consider a 1:1 session where you will definitely be seen and heard).

  • You’re open to being coached in front of others and the possibility that rough details (with no identifying features) might show up in my writings, videos, podcast episodes, website, etc (ie: “I was talking to a client the other day and this came up…” type of thing).

  • OR- you don’t actually have a question this month, but think sitting in on a call where you get to witness others being coached around topics like those mentioned above might help you feel less alone, more grounded… and perhaps even offer you some wisdom you didn’t know you needed.

Our Agreements with Each Other:

Each call will open with a few moments of guided grounding/ centering before moving into the Q&A portion.

The call is 90min and I’ll do my best to answer as many questions as possible (aiming for 7-8 or more), while still honoring the timing of care, wisdom, and Mystery. By showing up, you’re signaling you understand that you may not get to ask your question and you recognize that the act of being able to witness the call still holds great value.

There will be about five minutes in approx the middle of the call where I’ll do a quick shameless plug for a bigger offering I have going. And if, while answering your question, I have a really strong sense that you might benefit from a deeper dive with me, I might mention it in passing. I hold no agenda though for what you choose to do with any of that information. Nor will this call be a teaser call where I dangle the promise of support in front of you while actual value is behind a higher paywall. You can expect to receive value here and now.

You’re not obligated to stay for the whole call, though it is recommended. In this approach, we operate under the premise that witnessing is an active form of participation and a gift for everyone involved. This means if you do come to the call and stay, please do your best to have your camera on and be present with us (doing things in the background which support your presence is welcome, doing things which split your attention or distract you or others on the call- less so. Use your discernment here).

Due to the often tender nature of this type of work and most people’s need for more safety and privacy, the call will NOT be recorded. As I mentioned above, your shares may be used to help me plan other offerings or to spark content if I think others might benefit from hearing about your question and my response. You will remain anonymous.

I request that you do your best to ask questions appropriate for a group setting. If you’re realizing you might need even more privacy and attention, please consider a 1:1 session.

If you show up with a gentle openness to the unfolding, you’re pretty much guaranteed to leave feeling refreshed and grounded in some way.

Why PWYC (and not free)?

I see burnout as partly an issue of imbalanced input and output. Too much free stuff can easily tip into imbalance by blurring clear yeses and nos. If input and output are imbalanced, we often struggle to recognize satiation and to implement; and end up further perpetuating patterns of over-consumption, over-giving, exploitation, extraction, and devaluing of inner and outer resources. I’m also aware money and value can be a very charged issue for most of us, so I offer some things to consider below.

I invite you to pay what you can so:

  1. You pause before registering and make sure this really feels like something you want to do, not just another thing to overwhelm yourself with because it’s there and costs nothing;

  2. We can ‘be the change’ and practice rewiring our brains to recognize wisdom, emotional labor, and gatherings of this kind as things which should be valued, not exploited, ignored, and taken for granted like our society models for us all the time;

  3. Our bodies and nervous systems can reorganize around what reciprocity feels like (a key piece in moving away from cultures of burnout!)

I’m not giving you a suggested amount or range or other pricing guideline because:

  1. You are the one responsible for your relationship with your money. If you think we might be a good fit, that this might be just what you need right now, but the only amount you feel safe with is free… I still want you there and would hate to create a sense of guilt or hesitation if you can’t pay within a suggested amount.

  2. Value is in the eye of the beholder. This is as much a community trust exercise and learning opportunity for me as it might be for you.

Ultimately, we’re all humans, existing in money-driven systems, doing our best to afford the things we need and live lives which are satisfying and well-nourished. Let’s find ways to be generous with ourselves and each other accordingly.

How to register:

Towards the end of the gathering, I will share a link you can use to pay any amount you wish.

About Kate

Hi! I’m Kate - an old soul who tried both being ‘numb and normal’ and the queen of burning it all to the ground; but found being a semi-feral mystic at the wild edges of right here and now was the only rhythm of aliveness which worked for me. Now I support other humans who’ve lost their spark and want it back to find their wild edges and whole-hearted aliveness - in the life they have.

You can find out more about me here.

I’m glad you’re here.
