A great awakening does not happen without disruption and discomfort. That which became rigid because we stopped seeing it with fresh eyes will need to be shaken up if we are to shed what isn’t serving. In this invitation to great change, we are witnessing how leadership models based off of violence, dominance, rigidity, and showiness do not serve anyone’s ability to thrive. Statues and celebrations of ‘perfection’ are unrealistic and pale comparisons to the richness of the human experience. Where in your life have you set something rigid and what might be freed if you pulled it down? Notice what it feels like in your body when around dramatic leaders versus those who are quiet, calm, and lead from the heart. Disruptions will happen. Crises are unavoidable. Where might you be trying to defend yourself against that inevitability? And is that actually then a defense... or does it become an offense?

We are being invited into a time of more freedom and vitality, of different forms of leadership, of movement through teamwork and trust. These models are not new. There have been examples of them throughout history. And yet they are profoundly radical for how our minds are trained to view the world. But that is why we are here. To learn and do better. To evolve.

How is that invitation showing up in your life? Where are you resisting and where might you be saying ‘yes’? Where can you practice dropping perfectionism in place of something beautifully chaotic? How can you make a practice of trust, teamwork, and center-out organization and leadership? Where can you choose movement over stagnancy and drop some of the defenses you have tried to build against change? Can you practice surrendering to the cracking of the shell- to growth?
